Craft Aid in Lancaster is situated behind the local St Thomas' Church on Marton Street. We supply the local community with FairTrade, TraidCraft and many other sources of fairly traded goods.
Once you have entered the shop you will see how many gifts we have to offer. There are precious jewellery items, perfect for someone special, and little nick-nacks perfect for the quirky friends of yours. We also have warm woollen hats, made using the wool and fur of the animals found in the production area such as Alpaca wool from Peru, perfectly suited for the English weather. We also offer a large supply of little bits and pieces for all ages and interests, including stationery items, trinkets for decoration and clothing.
Aside from the inedible items we also house a range of food items. Inside the Craft Aid shop you will find anything from brown sugar to jams and honeys, a variety of different flavoured teas and coffees, biscuits and cakes, nuts and berries, and of course, chocolate.
We also provide a variety of cards for all occasions, some of which come from Africa. The workers behind the brand named 'Cards from Africa' have lovingly handmade the beautiful 'greeting', 'birthday', 'blank', 'sympathy', 'religious' and 'congratulation' cards using only recycled office materials. Each card takes around half an hour to be created by these third world producers, so not only are you bound to find something for every occasion, but you will also know that there is no other card like your new purchase, making these items extra special for your recipient.
Inside the Shop

Aside from the cards, the food, and the gifts found within the shop and are available to purchase immediately, Craft Aid also offer other services which are available. This is a service to those wishing to sell our products in other areas for one off or regular events. For example, we provide St Paul's Church Scotforth with their monthly supply of fairly traded items to sell at church on a monthly basis. We also provide local schools with items to sell and purchase at school fairs and open events. Every penny of profit from all these events are returned to the Craft Aid Trust which then uses it to fund projects to help benefit the community in the developing world.
